Top Ten Posts for 2015
I am excited to share my Top Ten Posts for 2015 viewers of my blog. It has been a year of growth and learning which I have enjoyed immensely.
I am not only nearing the end of 2015 but also rounding the corner to my second blog anniversary. It’s been fun to look back on the Top Ten Posts and how this blog has grown.
This year was an exciting one for growing my readership. In March I attended a blog conference in Nashville and met many wonderful women. One of them was Brenda Coffee who runs 1010 Park Place.
1010 Park Place
A few weeks after the blog conference, I received a call from Brenda. She loved what I was doing on my blog and invited me to write for her site which I began doing in June on a weekly basis.
Brenda was recently featured in a great book called The Woman’s Wakeup: How to Shake Up Your Looks, Life, and Love After 50. I bought several books as Christmas presents for girlfriends and they all loved it! The fashion shoots alone are worth it! You can find a copy at Amazon.

Here’s a sneak peek of Brenda in the first chapter. She looks fabulous!

My first post at 1010 Park Place was on Scarves and how they make a chic summer accessory.

You can find me weekly under the Voices section.
OMG Lifestyle Featured on the Huffington Post
In November I had the pleasure of being featured in The Huffington Post. The exposure was amazing and I have to admit, it was very exciting to see my post published.

My Growing Blog Traffic
Being the second year of my blog, many of my posts from my first year started gaining traction. I ran a report through my Google Analytics to see which of my 285 posts were the most popular.
My top ten posts get tens of thousands of readers monthly and are re-pinned on Pinterest daily. The numbers are astounding. Thank you to my loyal readers and welcome new ones.
It’s been a fun and exciting two years and I look forward to 2016, sharing more OMG Worthy Food, Fashion, Decor, Travel and Lifestyle articles.
I’ve enjoyed creating this blog so much so that I will be launching a second blog called Step-by-Step Blogging which will go live the beginning of January. If you know of anyone wanting to start a blog, please pass it along.
In case you have missed any of these, here are my top ten posts that were viewed in 2015. I’d love to know which was your favorite.

When my dear uncle took ill, I immediately went to Florida to care for him. Although he never had children, he always treated me and my siblings as his own.
In summary, my uncle’s mild dementia had spiraled into full-blown Alzheimer’s Disease. Once the doctors told me he could no longer live alone, I had to scramble for a plan of action. Caring for a loved one living close by is challenging enough; caring for him 1,000 miles away was out of the question.
I moved my uncle to a lovely memory care facility near me. Taking him away from his home, friends and familiar surroundings was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Getting him settled and the appropriate medical care took months.
We’ve come a long way on this difficult journey. One thing that I learned along the way should be applied to our everyday living. I read the book Creating Moments of Joy. The gist of it is about giving joy, even if it will soon be forgotten. An Alzheimer’s patient may not remember the moment, but what matters is that they enjoyed it. When I can bring joy to my uncle, the smile on his face is priceless.
How else can we create moments of joy in other people’s lives? Sometimes it is the simplest of things that we can do or say.
As I turn the chapter on this difficult year, I am looking forward to resuming my blog.
Happy holidays and may the new year bring you and your loved ones many moments of joy.

Family Time
Just a quick note to explain my radio silence. I unexpectedly had to go out of town to care for an ill relative. I have had to put my writing on hold for a few weeks. I look forward to returning to continue sharing OMG Worthy food, fashion, decor and travel inspiration. xo Elaine
