Gorgeous Container Gardens at Easton Town Center
Columbus is blessed to be the home of our most famous resident, Les Wexner (founder of Victoria Secret, Limited, Express, Bath & Body Works). Mr. Wexner developed a gorgeous outdoor shopping center called Easton Town Center.
This beautiful shopping center is adorned with gorgeous planters on every sidewalk. It’s container gardening at it’s best.
My girlfriend and I went to Easton for dinner last week. We were amazed at how healthy and gorgeous the summer flowers were as we entered the fall season.
Goodbye Summer Planters
What I love about container gardening is that you can make a colorful statement with just one pot!
White at Easton, I couldn’t help myself from taking pictures of each and every planter I walked by. I was intrigued with the color combinations, the mixture of flowers and greenery. I knew I had to share them with you.
Statement Container Gardening
Canna Lilies, Elephant Ears and many other tall plants make such a statement in any setting. I love the looks of these plants in oversized pots.
Name this Plant
Instead of “Name that Tune”, please “Name this Plant”. You can comment below if you know what this next plant is. I am not familiar with this shrub-like plant with thin leaves. I love the non-manicured look. I also like the contrast of the green with the pink petunias.
This coleus plant transitions well into fall. The burnt orange against the purple is striking.
This is another plant that stumped me. It’s unique and different.
Variegated Plant Offers Simplicity
This variegated plant is known as Variegated Ginger. The green and yellow colors are attractive, yet simple.
It’s a nice change from floral planters. It looks good in both an urn and also a more contemporary taller pot.
Great Plant Combinations
Miniature trees look great for summer with colorful flowers at the base.
I love this style of fern known as a foxtail fern. It looks so stately amongst the pink begonias.
The dragon begonias add an elegant touch to the coleus planter.
I fell in love with Bougainvillea when I was in France. It was everywhere! You would see it climbing old walls and on beautiful old buildings. This is a more tamed version limited to a planter.
More foxtail fern. The green is so striking against the red verbena.
I have always been fond of climbing plants and vines. I love how they give height to the planter.
Deep Purple
Dark purple leaves are a nice change from green.
Great Color Combinations for Container Gardening
The combination of ferns, coleus and begonias is elegant.
The sweet potato vine pairs perfectly with the chartreuse and purple coleus.
Tropical Container Gardening
These oversized leaves adds a touch of the tropics to this setting.
Instead of several pots, try using one big pot. It will make a big statement at your entrance or on your patio.

Thanks A. Rhoda! Any idea what the tall tree like shrub was? I couldn’t match that up with what I found on line. I missed gardening this year … can’t wait for next year to get back into it!
