Share Your Favorite Things & Host a Tips Party
One of my favorite parties to host is a Tips Party. This sample invitation will set the mood for your party and get your guests excited to learn and share.
Sample Tips Party Invitation
What is a tips party? It’s a fun evening filled with friends, food and sharing a variety of information. As the host you can come up with your list of questions or you can have everyone participate with asking questions. The party I hosted included about 18 friends. Not everyone participated in every question. I handed out notebooks and pens and as a question was asked, we wrote down information that was of interest to us.
Here’s not only a sampling of my questions but also my answers.
1. What is your favorite mascara?
Yves St. Laurent … next best thing to false eyelashes!
Yves Saint Laurent Volume Mascara
2. What are your five favorite things to buy at Costco?
It’s hard to limit to five as I am a Costco Junkie, but if i have to pick five things, off the top of my head here are the five things I buy on a regular basis:
Skinny Pop Popcorn
(If you haven’t tried it, you are missing out as it is guilt free!)
Fage Fat Free Yogurt
Fage Fat Free Yogurt
(Best price in town! Love to add reduced sugar jam and chopped walnuts for my morning snack.
High in protein, thick and creamy. )
Rembrandt Aged Gouda
Rembrandt Extra Aged Gouda
(It’s buttery and delicious and I am guilty of hooking several of my friends on this cheese)
Kirkland US Wild Caught Scallops
Kirkland U.S. Wild Caught Scallops
These scallops are always fresh and delicious! Simple to cook
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc Wine
(This is my favorite summer wine; however, Costco has many wonderful reds that I enjoy all through winter.
3. What are your favorite “no-show” panties?
Soma Vanishing Edge Panties. They have a silicone edge that make the panties stay in place and they do not show under pants! I hate panty lines and am so over thongs!
And the list goes on! Other favorite questions are what’s your favorite non-chain restaurant? Local boutique? Favorite brand of jeans? Manicurist? Florist? Etc. Etc. The one thing I can guarantee you is that everyone will have fun!
If you know of a neighbor or friend that is new to town, it’s a wonderful way for them to get to know your city and to meet new people.
Remember to keep the food simple. You will want as much time as possible to spend on sharing tips! You can serve several appetizers and wine and beer or if you want to serve dinner, make it a one dish meal such as lasagna or chili. Serve with a salad and some crusty bread.
I would love to hear back from you if you host a Tips Party and let me know what your favorite things were! Enjoy!
