Broken Right Arm & Sprained Left Hand = No Blogging for Awhile
Today is the three month anniversary of my new blog. I have enjoyed every minute of writing, researching and putting together every post.
Thursday I decided to take a walk and enjoy some fresh air. I ended up taking a nasty fall, broke my right arm in 3 places and severely sprained my left hand. I am sporting two lovely splints and incapable of doing much on my own except for one finger typing.
Surgery is scheduled for Thursday to begin the healing process of my broken bones. Ice is my left hand’s best friend.
My first three thoughts were
1) My stepdaughter’s wedding is in two weeks! I don’t want to walk down the aisle with both arms in splints
2) OH NO, MY BLOG . . . how will I type?!
3) I can’t be laid up as I am helping care for my mom as she recuperates from her broken ankle!
After my personal pity party and a few tears (I was so emotional the second day), I have come to realize this could have been worse and know that I am so blessed that it wasn’t!
The outpouring of support from family and friends has warmed my heart immensely.
I keep reminding myself of the saying “Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it”. I want to take this down time to reflect on what matters most, to enjoy this gift of extra special time with my loved ones and to appreciate my otherwise good health.
So please bear with me until I am able to return to blogging. In the meantime, stay well and safe!
xoxo

OMG! I’m so sorry to hear about your injury. We definitely have more in common than we know. I took a spill while walking during my trip in DC and strained my shoulder.
I hope you are feel better soon and are back to blogging before you know it.
In the meantime if you are in need of a guest blogger just let me know. I’d be happy to help.

Thanks Shelly. So sorry to hear you fell too! Another coincidence….you were probably taking in the cherry blossoms and tripped…I turned to look at my neighbors Bradford Pears to see if they were blooming and before i knew it i was hitting the pavement!
Would love for you to do a guest blog in the next couple of weeks if you have time!
Hope your shoulder is better!

Oh Elaine – it’s a good thing that tax season is over soon! #1 – You will look beautiful walking down the aisle. #2 Can I type for you #3 No ideas other than hiring help which I’m sure your mom would hate! How do these falls keep happening to all these women I know?

A belated thank you for your good wishes. I read your note and thought I had replied but now realize I hadn’t. I continue to be on the mend and am slowly getting back to blogging. I have enjoyed your blog but have refrained from commenting as it was just too hard to hold ipad and type with just one hand. I feel great to be getting back into the blogging world! Hope you are well.
My best,
Elaine

Elaine, I also wanted to mention that i use the voice activated feature for dictations for email, and sometimes responses to blogs, and once you get the hang of using words that the computer will not mangle, it may make your life easier…
