Stylish Garage Doors

Garage doors are usually the least attractive feature of a house.  When lot size allows, architects usually opt for a side load garage so it is not visible from the street.  That’s not necessary with these beautiful doors.  There are so many new options and designs that take garage doors to a whole new level.

When I travel to different cities I love touring neighborhoods.  It’s not often that I tour and say OMG, look at those garage doors but I can recall two places where I have done that . . .Las Vegas and Carmel-by-the-Sea.  Las Vegas has beautiful contemporary doors and Carmel has quaint cottages with vine draped doors.

I’ve pulled a collection of doors from contemporary to traditional.  Notice how a simple potted plant softens a modern door and how a climbing vine can add charm to a quaint traditional setting.
