Unseasonable temperatures lured me outside for some long walks this weekend. It felt so good to be outside in mid-February. I also had time to scour the web for this week’s Worthy Reads, starting with a flourless cake. I have seen it on menus in restaurants but have never tried one. Have you?
Recipe of the Week
I am usually not a huge chocolate fan but ever since I made the Chocolate Soufflé for Valentine’s weekend, I have been craving more chocolate. I came across this Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake by Martha Stewart and it sounded so good. For those that have a gluten intolerance, this dessert is gluten-free.
1010 Park Place
Fortunately Mother of the Bride (or Groom) dresses have dumped the frump. My post at 1010 Park Place last week was all about finding dresses that go beyond matronly and boring.
Room of the Week
Have you ever visited the website 1st Dibs? It started out as an online marketplace for high-end art and furniture, many of which are antiques and one of a kind pieces. More recently they added fashion and jewelry.
Needless to say, when I saw that the founder’s home was featured in Elle Magazine, I had to take a look. I was curious to see how someone who truly had “first dibs” on unique furniture and accessories decorated their home.
I had featured Michael Bruno’s entryway before as a Room of the Week, but didn’t realize it was his home at the time. Take the tour at Elle Magazine.
14 Great Photos of Julie Andrews Over the Years
Town & Country shared some great photos of Julie Andrews through her life and career. The Sound of Music will always be my favorite movie of hers. There is a small blurb about the difficult time she had filming this scene shown above. I’ll always think of that when I see this picture. Head on over to Town & Country Magazine to read about it and enjoy the collection of photos.
