I hope your new year is off to a good start! I am so excited for 2016 as I enter my third year of this blog.
We had a lovely four-day weekend. On New Year’s Day I made a delicious Roasted Pork with Sauerkraut recipe from Land O’Lakes. It had apples and onions and the kraut was flavored with a little brown sugar and maple syrup. For lunch yesterday I made a pork reuben with some homemade 1000 Island Dressing (ketchup, relish and mayo) and the sauerkraut. Delish!

A Food App for those with Food Allergies
The ipiit food app is a must for anyone with a food allergy or sensitivity. You can scan the bar code of a product in your grocery store and determine whether it contains gluten, MSG, nuts or other items that you may be allergic to.

This past week’s post at 1010 Park Place was all about Closet Envy and turning that envy into inspiration to clean out and organize your closet.
Our Favorite ‘Back of the Package’ Recipes
My aunt gave me a cookbook once with recipes from boxes, bottles and cans. Bon Appétit shared Their Favorite ‘Back of the Package’ Recipes, from Cookies to Meatloaf. See if any of your favorites are included in their list.
Room of the Week
Once again I am sharing a room from one of my favorite designers, Nate Berkus. I found this room on My Domaine. It’s part of an interesting article on 11 Tried-and-True Decorating Secrets From Their Editors.
Thanks for stopping by! Make it a great week and start to the new year.

Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies! I’m curious… Must see if I can figure out if history credits a particular someone with first inventing them, or when they popped up on the scene. Also, potatoes, Brussel sprouts and rosemary are right up my alley. I have the most fabulous rosemary bushes I’ll miss when I move. Rosemary will be one of the first things I’ll plant in my new home. Since rattlesnakes don’t like things that have a strong fragrance, I’m hoping it also acts as “snake-away.” They’re sneaky. If they don’t kill you, they’ll at least scare you half to death! xoxox, Brenda

I stumbled across your blog, and feel blessed. I read your interview with Ken Downing and his advice about fit. I do not follow fashion and I always admire those individuals who seem to have been blessed with grace and style. I can only say I wish we would return to a stylish dress attire. I believe I will enjoy reading your posts.
