It seems to be raining everywhere except for out west where it’s needed! I drove through monsoon type rain over the weekend to attend my cousin’s bridal shower in Cleveland. It was well worth it to see the beautiful bride to be and my family but enough already – we need some sun! The one thing about the rain though is it puts me in the mood to curl up on my chair and read. It didn’t take me long to come up with some worthy reads to share this week. Enjoy.
Room of the Week
Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse’s Seaside Sanctuary was featured in Veranda. I’d love to spend some time in his kitchen! Click on the link and you can tour the rest of his home.
Recipe of the Week
Yes, I know I just did a whole blog post on Ice Cream Sandwiches and how they make the perfect summer dessert. Loved each and every one of them. If you missed it, you can view them here. Soon after hitting publish on the post, I came across these Key Lime Pie Ice Cream Sandwiches from the blog Saving Dessert. I love key lime pie so much that I had to share this recipe so that you can add it to your collection of ice cream sandwiches to make this summer.
33 Adorable Photos of Prince William & Prince Harry’s Childhood
Town & Country Magazine shared 33 Adorable Photos of Prince William and Prince Harry from their childhood. Princess Diana was a contemporary of mine. I was devastated to see her young life cut short. I have enjoyed watching her kids grow up. It’s especially fun to see Prince William as a child and now watching him with his own children. Where have the years gone?
T & C also shared 32 recent pictures of other European Royals from the week. Princess Caroline is another contemporary of mine. I believe she is just a few years older than me so I have seen her grow up in the media. She has had her share of tragedies as well. Seeing these tragedies of celebrities your age reminds you that no one is protected from them and that life is precious. Live every day to the fullest.
Grains 101
There are so many grains available in our grocery stores but many of us don’t know much about them. Giada’s Magazine recently featured Grains 101 to introduce you to some grains that you may not be familiar with.
Tipping Practices Vary Across Globe
I recently shared a Tipping Chart in another Worthy Reads. It was an eye opener to many. I recently came across this article in USA Today regarding Tipping Practices Across the Globe. The article refers to both local and international tipping practices. I especially found the Tipping in Foreign Countries section interesting. Did you know that in nations such as Australia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Japan, tipping isn’t common. I don’t think I knew that when we were in Ireland!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week.
