New Weekly Feature
For the past 20 weeks I featured a Celebrity Home tour in my Monday morning Worthy Reads. I would scour the internet looking for homes worth sharing. I originally thought it would be a great weekly feature thinking it would be eye candy for my readers. To my surprise, I haven’t found many celebrity homes that I like! My OMG reaction has been more disappointment than OMG love. I know many of you have felt the same from your comments and emails.
My mission for this blog has been to share beautiful, delicious, interesting or fun worthy reads. Starting today, I will be sharing a beautiful Room of the Week that will leave you inspired. Rooms we would live in that are warm, inviting and truly OMG worthy!
Room of the Week
To kick off this new feature, I wanted to share this gorgeous great room found on Chic Coastal Living. This room is from a Mediterranean style beach house in Sea Island, Georgia. I love the open floor plan, the arched ceilings with the beams and the arched windows. The natural fiber rug and chairs adds a casual flair to the beach house. You can see more of this stylish house at the Chic Coastal Living blog.
This is the kind of eye candy worthy of this series, don’t you agree?
Oscar Dresses
I love this infographic depicting the Oscar dresses worn by all the Best Actress Academy Award Winners found at Big Group dating back to 1929.
Final Mad Men Fashion
As if it’s not bad enough that PBS’s Downton Abbey is coming to an end, the AMC’s Mad Men is right behind them. April 5th is the start of the final season of Mad Men. It has been so much fun to see the fashion change through the seven seasons of this great show. Check out the sneak peek of this season at Fashionista.
You Can Paint Wood Furniture Without Sanding
Julie Blanner had me at “without sanding” in her blog post on painting wood. I love the look of painted wood but not the hard work needed to sand the furniture. Check out her post Quick Painting Tip – No Sanding Needed.
Recipe of the Week
I am in the mode of making meals that I can freeze leftovers. I like to make a large enough meal that I get several extra lunches out of and this recipe should freeze well. I found this Baked Mozzarella Chicken Roll recipe at the Pinch of Yum blog. It looks delicious.
Note: I wrote this post yesterday morning and made these Chicken Rolls last night. They were delicious but here are a few of my notes.
- I couldn’t find smaller chicken breasts and pounding them didn’t make them as thin as I wanted. I shaved off the thick end with a knife and cut the extra chicken in strips and froze it for a future stir fry.
- Make sure you read through the recipe carefully. The picture looks beautiful but you don’t want to line your chicken rolls up next to each other as shown. They will not brown and cook properly.
- I lined up all the chicken breasts on a cutting board and evenly divided the stuffing on each breast before rolling the chicken.
- A flavorful marina is necessary — you can doctor up a bottled version with extra spices to your liking. Add some crushed red pepper for a kick if you like it hot.
- Fresh basil is the perfect garnish as it really adds good flavor.
