At Tabletop Trends we spent an afternoon styling a bridal shower buffet. We feel your buffet should be eye-catching with color, height, beautiful food and stylish serveware!  These simple tricks will make your buffet look as good as a caterers.

How to Style a Buffet Like a Caterer

Here are our simple tricks on how to add height and color to your buffet.

Use simple props such as Rubbermaid containers or a stack of books.

Use plastic containers to create different levels on your buffet

Cover props with table scarfs (we use Pashmina scarves) by just draping softly over and around the props.

Use cake stands to add additional height.  Tissue paper pompoms are an inexpensive and great way to add pops of color to your buffet.   We displayed the pompoms on cake stands and glass apothecary jars.

Food that is artfully garnished and displayed on unique and attractive serveware adds eye appeal to your buffet.

Display a menu as a courtesy to your guests.

Directions for Tissue Paper Pompoms

Tissue paper pompoms are so easy to make and add great color to your buffet!

Follow these four simple steps to create these beautiful colorful pompoms

1.  Stack 8 sheets of tissue paper together

2.  Make 1 1/2 inch wide accordion folds

3.  Tie in the center with floral wire or ribbon

4.  Separate layers by carefully pulling away one layer at a time
