I have been making this Cranberry Orange Relish for years as it’s one of our favorite sides for Thanksgiving Dinner. It couldn’t be easier. It consists of only three ingredients! Yes, just three! No stirring over a hot stove. No simmering. Just mixing all three ingredients in a food processor. That’s it!
The Best Cranberry Orange Relish
I first found this recipe on an Ocean Spray Cranberry Bag. Sometimes the best recipes are found on product packaging. I actually have a cookbook called Best Recipes from the Backs of Boxes, Bottles, Cans and Jars.
If you love fresh oranges this recipe will be right up your alley.
Ingredients
1 Bag of Cranberries, rinsed and drained
1 Whole Navel Orange, quartered (do not peel)
3/4 Cup Sugar
Notes: My recipe calls for navel oranges because they do not have seeds. If you can’t find navel oranges, just make sure you remove the seeds from another variety.
We like the relish slightly tart. You can taste and adjust the sugar accordingly. The original recipe called for 3/4 – 1 cup sugar.
I recommend purchasing a second orange for garnishing.
Directions
Place all 3 ingredients in a food processor.
Pulse until finely chopped and mixed well.
That’s it! You can make it in advance. Place in your serving bowl and store in refrigerator. Remove from fridge 20 minutes before serving to take the chill off.
Garnish with sliced oranges for a pretty contrast of colors.
Cranberry Relish or Gravy?
Do you prefer cranberry relish (or cranberry sauce) on your turkey or gravy? Personally, I am not a gravy fan. My sister-in-law likes gravy so I will be serving it this Thanksgiving but it will be this cranberry relish on my plate.
Please comment below on what your favorite is. Also, if you have a link to a favorite gravy recipe, please share!

I’m not a gravy fan either, and since we’re nearly twins from another mother, this won’t surprise you either. I make the same cranberry orange relish that I got it off the back of the cranberry bag! How easy can that be? LOL! xoxox, Brenda
