Boxwoods are Perfect for Pots & Urns

Boxwoods are one of my favorite shrubs. They add such great color and style to both landscaping and hard surfaces such as decks, porches and patios.

Boxwoods are one of my favorite shrubs.  They stay green all year and at least in Ohio, they are pretty hardy.  Two years ago we didn’t like the height of our boxwoods in the backyard.  We felt they got too tall.  At the end of the season, we cut them back to a 2 feet foot off the ground and they came back beautifully.

Another way I love to use boxwoods in landscaping is in pots and urns.    It’s a great way to add greenery to a patio or porch.  Depending on the container and the setting, they can be traditional or contemporary.  The beautiful green shrub can soften hard surfaces such as cement and brick patios and add warmth to wood decks.
