Architectural details such as wood molding and paneling can add character to your home. It adds a custom touch to a room and I love the addition of a subtle pattern to the walls.

I fell in love with the look of wood paneling when I toured my home for the first time before buying it. I loved how the builder added the wood panels to the entryways between two rooms. It was a nice transition instead of plain drywall.

I found similar wood panels in what appears to be an older home below.

I came across an interesting article by Coats Homes, A Lesson in Wainscoating and Paneling. Wainscoating is below chair rail and panel molding or wood paneling is often floor to ceiling height.
