OMG Worthy Reads, Week 33
This weeks Worthy Reads is all about summer from college grads to beach houses, SPF beauty tips, Key Lime Pie recipe and entertaining outdoors with Veranda.
I just returned home from a wonderful trip to Longboat Key. We had perfect beach weather, great seafood and quality time with dear friends.
I loved walking on the beach and seeing all the birds playing at the water’s edge.
There were several sea turtle nests that were roped off and protected. At one of the restaurants that we were at, they had to turn off all lights outside because it attracts the sea turtles. It’s lights out from May 1st to October 31st.
Here are some interesting links on Sea Turtles and their nesting. Sea Turtles and an article from ABC.
My friend Jane and I spent a relaxing afternoon at the Ritz Carlton Spa in Sarasota while our husbands went fishing. Before leaving for vacation I wrote about Reinventing Your Home Accessories and featured the bronze statues in my master bath.
Well, I couldn’t believe when I walked into the spa and saw the same statues in the women’s locker room, the day before my post was to go live! I’d like to think of that as a good omen.
It’s back to reality this week but the best thing about vacations is that they reenergize you. Enjoy this week’s Worthy Reads.
Is The SPF In Your Makeup And Skin Care Enough?
Now that it is summer and you are spending more time outside, this article from Lucky Magazine Is The Spf In Your Makeup And Skin Care Enough? was worthy of sharing.

The 10 Best Cities For College Grads In 2015
I was surprised at this list in Huffington Post on The 10 Best Cities For College Grads In 2015. There were the usual big cities but my surprise was at the smaller cities listed.
Recipe of the Week
While in Florida, we had Key Lime Pie every night that we shared between the four of us. OMG! It’s one of my favorite desserts. I turned to Southern Living for a Key Lime Pie recipe for this week’s Worthy Reads. I trust their test kitchen as Southern Living’s recipes are always good.

9 Ways to Make Your Life Better with the Danish Concept of Hygge

I came across this article 9 Ways to Make Your Life Better with the Danish Concept of Hygge in Town & Country Magazine. Frankly, I had never heard of the word Hygge. Have you?
“Pronounced “hoo-ga,” this Danish concept cannot be translated to one single word but encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life.”
So what’s the big deal about Hygge and why am I sharing it? Well, I found it interesting that “this national obsession with all things cozy is credited as one of the reasons why Denmark is always at the top of the list of the world’s happiest countries, despite their infamously miserable winters.”
I love the positive spin hygge puts on their life. It’s something we should all work at.

I am so thankful that the ice storm that was predicted to hit Columbus never came. We had a busy weekend with two nights of having guests for dinner. Friday night I made my tried and true Rack of Lamb. It’s so easy to prepare and a great entrée for a work night. Last night I tried a couple of new recipes that I will soon share on the blog.
