I’m always interested in trying new recipes. Recently, I became intrigued when I came across some Quiche recipes with unique crusts. The cooking world is getting so creative to work around food allergies such as gluten or to make a recipe healthier. But chefs and recipe creators are doing what they do best: Creating great food.
Five of these six Quiche recipes do not have your typical crust. They are made from healthier ingredients such as quinoa, potatoes, sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash and a polenta and squash combination. The sixth recipe is a more traditional crust with a twist. Tieghan from Half Baked Harvest added toasted sesame seeds to her crust. It sounds delicious.
Quiche Recipes are so Versatile
Quiche can be served at any time. It is great for brunch but also perfect for dinner. Perhaps one of these recipes will round out your Easter menu next week.
The creative side of me loves that the ingredients for the Quiche portion do not need to be exact. If you want to add different spices or substitute vegetables, by all means, go ahead.
Carol from A Chef’s Kitchen shares a simple formula for Quiche. “One egg to every half-cup of liquid, preferably something on the rich side such as half-and-half or cream, however, whole milk or 2% milk can work.” Her Quinoa Crust Quiche is up first in my round-up of Quiche recipes with unique crusts. Enjoy!
