I had a lovely week. From celebrating my birthday with loved ones to receiving well wishes in the mail and on Facebook, it’s all a wonderful reminder of how blessed I am to have so many great people in my life.
My favorite day to be on Facebook is my birthday. I enjoy hearing from family and friends, near and far. Facebook has been great for connecting people across the globe. I heard from friends and family throughout the states as well as from Sweden, Norway, Lebanon and Canada. I couldn’t have imagined that years ago!
I did have a little down time yesterday to search for some great links to share for this week’s Worthy Reads. Enjoy.
Room of the Week
If there is one thing I could redo in my home it would be to have a larger foyer such as this pretty one from Atlanta Homes. I like the wide hallway, allowing the homeowner to display some prized furniture pieces. Every foyer should be large enough for a table, don’t you agree? I also love all of the natural light streaming in from the wall of windows.
The Best Way to Clean Your Makeup Brushes
Okay, I’ll admit it. I simply forget that I need to clean my makeup brushes! Are you guilty of that too? Well, it’s time to change that and Lydia from Lydi Outloud shares how to do it.
Recipe of the Week
If I remember correctly, spinach balls first made the appetizer circuit in the late 70’s. They disappeared for decades and recently came back in vogue. A catering friend made them for a party this past summer and they were a huge hit.
This recipe from Lisa at Once a Month Meals is exactly how I remember them. What I love about these spinach balls is that they freeze well. I am always on the lookout for anything that can be made ahead for a party. Give them a try. Popeye would be proud.
1010 Park Place
This past week at 1010 Park Place I wrote a post called A Shining Example of Chic Lacquered Walls. I fell in love with the dramatic effect glossy lacquered walls can have on a room. Head on over to the post to view all the photos.

Honoring Family Veterans that have Passed
This week we celebrate Veterans that have served our country. In my previous post, A Unique Way to Frame the US Flag in Memory of a Veteran, I wrote how I framed my father-in-law’s flag. It was one of the best gifts I gave my husband. It proudly hangs in our great room.
Thank you to all that have served to protect our country.
