Hello November! For many reasons, November is one of my favorite months. With the colder weather I start to enjoy being indoors with the fireplace on. My cooking starts to turn to more heartier, comfort type foods. We have three family birthdays to celebrate, mine included (and who doesn’t like their birthday month!). It’s the final month of college football for their normal schedule before playoffs. And lastly, we have Thanksgiving to celebrate. This year I have my in-laws visiting for the holiday and I am already planning for their visit. I hope you enjoy November as much as I do!
I have some great Worthy Reads to kick off this month’s series including a recipe, decorating and shopping advice as well as a fun craft. Enjoy.
Recipe of the Week
As I have shared with you before, Farro is a new grain to me. I like the flavor and texture. This recipe for Farro Risotto with Squash and Kale from Alexandra’s Kitchen looks worthy of trying.
6 Tips for Being a HomeGoods Power Shopper
The title of this post, 6 Tips for being a HomeGoods Power Shopper caught my eye as I love shopping at HomeGoods! Kris with Driven by Design shares her shopping tips on how to make the best of shopping at HomeGoods. They are great tips. If you are not familiar with HomeGoods they are part of the TJ Maxx Stores.
I have another tip for you. HomeGoods has an app called The Goods. You can download it on your phone. The app allows you to choose a specific HomeGoods store where you can browse photos of new items that they get in every day. If you are in the market for something specific, you can keep your eye on the app and know when to get to the store before it’s gone!
1010 Park Place
Halloween is behind us but Pumpkins are still part of our holiday decor for Thanksgiving! My post at 1010 Park Place last week was all about Elegant Thanksgiving Pumpkin Decorations.
Room of the Week
This beautiful white kitchen is truly a neutral room from the cabinets to the bar stools. You can easily change out your accessories without being limited to a certain color scheme. I love the lucite bar stools which are not obtrusive. You can view the rest of this lovely home by visiting At Home in Arkansas.
Glow in the Dark Pumpkins
Yes, Halloween is over but I didn’t find this clever craft of Painting DIY Glow in the Dark Pumpkins until this past weekend. I thought it was worth sharing so you could Pin it to your Pinterest board for next year’s Halloween craft. It’s so clever and I think kids would love this project! You can still paint pumpkins for Thanksgiving!
