I had a lovely Mother’s Day weekend and hope you did too. Mine started with breakfast with one stepdaughter on Friday, a brunch with dear friends on Sunday and dinner with my other stepdaughter Sunday evening. I only wish that my mom lived closer but I was able to celebrate with her a couple of weeks ago.
There are so many women that shape our lives. Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and cousins. Friends and neighbors. Teachers. There have been many that have touched mine and for that I am grateful.
In between all that dining out, I was able to spend some time gathering some worthy reads for today’s post. The first one being something that everyone with a smart phone must read regarding their privacy!
How to Turn Off iOS 7 Frequent Location Tracking
I couldn’t believe my ears when I first heard about this on the NBC Nightly News. I had no idea that my iPhone was tracking my location. I am not talking about the GPS location feature for maps and other apps that use your current location. This frequent location feature is tracking where and when you go anywhere, everyday, in detail. If it is turned on, you will see an address for every place you have been as well as a date and time.
There is no need for that kind of tracking for me so I immediately turned that feature off. On the news program they showed me how.
I have found a step-by-step guide at iMore that will show you how to accomplish the same and increase your privacy. You can also click on this NBC Nightly News Facebook Page for a step-by-step video guide. If you have an Android or other smart phone, you can Google instructions on how to do it on your phone.
10 Surprising Things to do with Asparagus
There are so many ways to enjoy asparagus besides steaming it. It’s a vegetable we eat a lot of as it is one of my husband’s favorite. He grew up eating white asparagus and I didn’t even know it existed until I was an adult. Visit Better Homes & Gardens for asparagus inspiration.
Recipe of the Week
I like starting my week off with a meal that will provide leftovers for a few lunches during the week or ones that I can freeze. These Quinoa Stuffed Peppers from Damn Delicious look and sound delicious as well as healthy for you. They will make a great light dinner paired with a green salad.
Room of the Week
I’m a huge fan of color but when done right, I also like neutral rooms. They are peaceful and calming. The green topiary trees and floral arrangements are all the color this white living room needs. This photo was found on Elements of Style .
37 Pop Culture Things No One Can Seem to Pronounce
The city Cannes, France (where the famous film festival is held) is one of the most mispronounced names out there.
The Wrong Way: Kan
The Right Way: Kahn or Can-z
There is a great list on Elle Magazine about this and other mispronounced names that I thought you would find interesting.
Robin’s Nest Update
My bird watching on my windowsill has been disappointing. As shown in a previous post, our Robin’s nest went from one to four eggs and then one by one, back down to one egg. I am not sure which predator robbed the nest. If this last single egg survives, it should hatch any day now.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

Oh, those stuffed peppers look delicious. I’m a sucker for any kind of pepper:) Love the neutral room decor too, we are contemplating moving to a different home after being in our house for 14 years so every time I see room decor that I like…I pin it! Love this! Have a great day!

Thanks Audrey. It would be fun to move and start over with decorating for something different! Good luck!
