We just returned from a lovely weekend visiting friends in Pennsylvania and attending the Ohio State/Penn State game. The fall foliage was at its peak in the Pennsylvania mountains. Absolutely breathtaking!

Recipe of the Week
If you are in the mood to bake, take advantage of seasonal produce and make this Cinnamon Apple Crumb Cake by OMG Chocolate Desserts.
Room of the Week
This two-toned kitchen from Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle is gorgeous. The charcoal cabinets tie in with the dark windows. The white island brightens up the room. Well done!
Interview with Ina & Jeffrey Garten
I found this Ina and Jeffrey Garten interview at Country Living. Ina’s new cookbook Cooking for Jeffrey: A Barefoot Contessa Cookbook is coming out this month. They have been married for 48 years!

Have you ever been in a situation when you couldn’t find the right dress for a special occasion? Well, that recently happened to me for my niece’s wedding. Much like Sharon Stone thinking outside of the norm and wearing her white blouse from The Gap with her Vera Wang skirt, I had to get creative. Head on over to my post at 1010 Park Place to see what I did.
Thanksgiving Cheat Sheet
If you are hosting Thanksgiving this chart from Simple Most will come in handy. It shows how much food you need for Thanksgiving according to the number of guests you are feeding.

Your skirt and top came out beautiful! I would have never thought to do something like that. I need to think outside the box every once in a while!!

Thanks Carolyn! I was so happy with the final results! Now for the next wedding!

Love all things Ina and Jeffrey along with the bold, blue kitchen. I’d love to do something like that but for right now, I just want to fix the bad stuff and get back to a neutral palette and think about things. Two ceilings are painted this nice, rich cream. Such a difference already. I realize how little it takes to make me happy! xoxox, Brenda

Brenda, I am working my way back to a neutral palette in my dining room. Painter arrives next week! I can’t wait to see you final results!
