Goodbye Dry, Cracked Heels

Goodbye Dry Cracked Heels

I was in Las Vegas for a couple of weeks and the desert air can dry out everything including your feet!  I was caring for my dad who was in the hospital so time for a pedicure was out of the question.

I stopped at CVS one night on my way home from the hospital and bought a foot file and some heel cream.   I have never been so thrilled with beauty products before.  I knew I had to share these two with you.

My Favorite Foot File

If you have dry, cracked heels, you will love this foot file. It has both coarse and fine grain sides. It does a great job on first exfoliating and then smoothing the skin's surface.

Exfoliation is an important part to any good pedicure.  I used this Easy Grip Dual Surface Foot File from CVS which has both coarse and fine surfaces.

The first step is sanding away all dead skin with the coarse side.  (I did this with dry feet, not wet).  The second step is smoothing the heel with the fine grain side of the file.  This second step really made a difference.  The coarse side can leave your skin feeling rough.

This file was under $7 but better than any other file I have used.  A winner in my book!

Best Foot Cream for Dry, Cracked Heels

The best cream for cracked heels: Dr. Scholl's DreamWalk Intensive Heel Repair Cream

This Dr. Scholl’s DreamWalk Intensive Heel Repair Cream is a miracle cream!  I applied the cream to my heels before going to bed and literally saw results the next morning.  It must be the combination of ingredients that makes it so effective.  It truly is amazing!

For those sensitive to smell, there isn’t much of a scent in this cream.

That’s it.  Two simple, inexpensive products that produced fabulous results.  If you want to skip the salon pedicure, give these two products a try and put your pedicure money towards some fabulous sandals.
