Easter Menu and Decor Inspiration

It is hard to outdo my Elegant Easter Brunch post from last year.  It continues to be my most popular post with hundreds of visitors each day, pinning many of the images to their Pinterest boards.   The recipes are not just for Easter but perfect for any brunch, all year long.

This ham and potato bake is one of the popular pins.

This fruit salad was also a huge hit.  The secret ingredient is dry vanilla pudding mix.  It mixes with the juice of the fruit and creates a wonderful coating and flavor.

Greet Your Easter Guests with Spring Flower Pots

Easter always signals to me that it is time to plant some pansies.  They are hearty flowers and can withstand the colder temperatures when March is still flirting with winter.   They are especially safe when placed up by your front entrance where they have a bit more protection from the wind and cold.  If harsh temperatures are predicted, you can lightly cover them with a sheet at night.

I loved these pots found on the Deborah Silver website.  The eucalyptus and branches add some height to the pot with the low-lying pansies.

I also love these purple pansies from Gardens Ablaze.  When the pansies are all in the same color tone, it is a great punch of color.

Easter Decorations

If you want to freshen up some of your Easter decorations, you will love this tip!  Spray any ceramic or glass bunnies with a mercury glass spray paint as shown at Town and Country Home.

Courtenay has a great example of doing this on her blog, the Creek Line House.  It’s amazing how much the paint can give it a modern updated look.  I like the silver but also like the mercury glass look.  Gold would be pretty too depending on your decor.

You would swear this was a chocolate Easter bunny but it’s just an old ceramic bunny spray painted a chocolate brown.  For information on materials, etc., see Sew Many Ways.

I felt you needed to see the “before” picture to appreciate this transformation!  If you don’t have any old ceramic bunnies in your basement storage, head on over to the dollar store!

These Hyacinths in silver julep cups found at Style Beat are so dainty.  Wouldn’t they be pretty on your table?

White tulips compliment the silver bowl with the vine wreath and eggs.  I found this pretty centerpiece on a Splendid Sass.  Notice how she also used the silver tea pot for a vase.

The Easter Bunny is sure to find your house with this door decoration found on Ever Blooming Originals.   It’s a fun decoration if you have young children.

Dress Up Your Easter Dessert Platter with a Chocolate Bunny

If you have a plate of cookies, or as in this case beautiful macaroons, showcase your dessert around a chocolate bunny.  This was also found at Town and Country Home.

When Dying Easter Eggs, Go Beyond Your Basic Colors

This chart by McCormick that I found on Dollar Store Mom will help guide you to new colors for your Easter egg dying.  I love the neon blue, lime and radiant orchid for some fresh new colors.

Easter Appetizer

This is a unique twist on the deviled egg from Betty Crocker.  Instead of mayonnaise, they used a chive and onion cream cheese spread.  I like how they cut the eggs with a crinkle cutter.

My tip for plating up deviled eggs is to fan fresh chives across the bottom of the plate and place the eggs on top of the chives.  This way they won’t slide around the plate.

Easter Carrots

These brown sugared carrots found on Martha Stewart will make any Easter table or buffet festive.  Even those that dislike raw carrots will like them when glazed like this.

Easter Potatoes

These Duchess Potatoes found at Knorr’s can be made in advance.  They are pretty and I like that they are already portioned for individual servings.
